EUSBSR AF & Engagement Day
Connecting Stakeholders with the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region
On October 29, 2024, from 10:30 to 16:30, the Wisby Strand in Visby will host a significant event preceding the EUSBSR Annual Forum 2024. This Engagement Day aims to broaden participation and attract new stakeholders to the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).
The event targets local authorities, civil society organizations, youth groups, businesses, and Ukrainian stakeholders. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the benefits of the EUSBSR and learn how to navigate its structure effectively.
During the day, representatives from four key groups - local authorities, civil society, youth, and the business sector - will present their cooperation ideas. They will receive valuable feedback from Policy Area coordinators, who oversee the implementation of specific EUSBSR policy areas. Additionally, stakeholders from Ukraine have been invited to participate, fostering broader regional cooperation.
In the part Intorduction to the strategy and panel discussion related to the importance of broad engagement when addressing complex societal challenges, incl. a Ukrainian perspective” Stefan Lütgenau, president of the Danube Civil Society Forum will also be among the distinguished speakers on the agenda. His insights will provide valuable perspectives on civil society engagement in macro regional strategies.
This Engagement Day serves as an excellent starting point for those new to the EUSBSR, offering guidance on how organizations can benefit from the Strategy and overcome common challenges such as identifying appropriate contacts and funding opportunities for cross-border cooperation.
By facilitating direct interaction between stakeholders and EUSBSR coordinators, the event aims to demystify the Strategy's workings and encourage more active participation in shaping the Baltic Sea Region's future.
